| Chisolm vs. Lock on Nov. 4 Tue, 05 Aug 2008 23:30:00 -0400 Larry Chisolm won a runoff Tuesday against Jerry Rothschild Jr. to become the Democratic nominee for Chatham County District Attorney. With 91 of 92 precincts reporting, native Savannahian Chisolm had 65 percent of the vote, compared to 35 percent for Rothschild. Chisolm will face Chief Assistant District Attorney David Lock, a Republican, in the Nov. 4 general election. Lock was unopposed in the July 15 primary for the GOP nomination. The winner will replace Republican Spencer Lawton Jr., who plans to retire at the end of the year after serving 28 years.
Chisolm, a former assistant district attorney, finished first in the four-way Democratic primary in July. But he fell short of the majority needed to win outright. That forced him into the runoff with Rothschild, who is an assistant district attorney. | ||
